Matses Journey October 2023

Event Details

The event will take place from October 22-29, 2023. We will be living with the Matses Tribe in the Amazon Rainforest, a community we have closely worked with for many years.

Experience

This journey is specially designed for Kambo lovers and practitioners who are keen to deepen their relationship with Kambo and the indigenous Matses tribe. However, this is no luxury getaway— it's an authentic, raw experience that might challenge you but promises to be incredibly fulfilling and transformative.

We'll have the opportunity to connect with the people and frogs of the jungle while bringing resources, support, and authentic connections to the villages. It's a great benefit to the tribes to have us visit, providing them with resources to live and protect the rainforest and the frogs.

Schedule

Here's the breakdown of our schedule:

  • DAY 1: Meet in Iquitos at Epoca hotel by 3 pm. We'll have dinner together at Dawn of the Amazon at 6 pm for introductions.

  • DAY 2: Spend a day in Iquitos to ground, decompress and shop. We'll visit the Art Market, Belen Market, and more.

  • DAY 3-6: Hike to and live in the Ibama Matses village.

  • DAY 7: Hike out of the village, return to Iquitos, and have dinner/integration.

  • DAY 8: Official trip itinerary ends.

Cost and Inclusions

The price for the trip is $2300 per person. This includes hotel and accommodation from Oct 22-Oct 29, all meals while staying with the Matses, transportation to/from the airport to the Epoca hotel in Iquitos, mosquito nets, all transportation to and from the village and other group activities, and Kambo rituals.

While the journey offers an enriching experience and covers many of your needs, there are a few items and costs that are not included in the trip fee. Participants are responsible for their airfare to and from Iquitos, along with personal items like rubber boots, a hammock, or a sleeping camp pad. While breakfast is provided at the hotel in Iquitos, other meals in the city are not covered. Also, any independent taxi rides in Iquitos, souvenirs, gifts, and additional Kambo/Nunu/Sananga supplies that you may want to purchase are your responsibility. Please plan accordingly to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey.
